> cooking with bzzr )
Thinking of bzzr as just a beverage is selling it short. For the
true bzzr-lover, it's also an ingredient in recipes from breakfast
to dessert. Some are strictly of the tailgate-breakfast variety
(read: Very Bad Idea) while others are true gourmet cuisine. Read

Bzzrios
| 1 |
bowl of dry Cheerios |
| 1 can |
Bzzr |
1. Add bzzr to Cheerios.
2. Consume.
3. Wonder what possessed you to do it in the first place.
Why It Works:
It doesn't. Bzzrios is one of those campus legends without reason
- everyone has that one alcoholic friend who's tried it, but most
people have the good sense not to. The only time Bzzrios are a good
idea is as a warmup breakfast for Arts County Fair.
Guinni Wheats
| 1 |
bowl of dry Mini-Wheats |
| 1 can |
Guinness |
| |
spices to taste |
1. Add Guinness to Mini-Wheats.
2. Consume.
Why It Works:
Slightly better than Bzzrios, none of us had actually heard
of Guinni Wheats until Pat brought it up during a bzzr-tasting one
night. Nobody could really figure out whether or not it would be
(A) terrible or (B) sort of like oatmeal. Try it and get back to
us.
Bzzr Pancakes
| 1 cup |
milk |
| 1 cup |
beer |
2 cups |
flour |
| 1 |
egg |
| 1 tbsp |
baking powder |
| 3 tbsp |
oil |
| 3 tbsp |
sugar |
| pinch |
salt |
| 3 drops |
vanilla extract |
1. In one bowl, mix the milk, bzzr, egg and oil.
2. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
3. Stir #1 into #2, making sure to break up any lumps with a fork.
4. Pour portions of the batter onto a frying pan or griddle, and
cook until, you know, they're cooked.
Why It Works:
Pancakes are good. Beer is good. Do the damn math. Darker beers
like stout or brown ale work well - they'll give the pancakes a
full, rich flavour.
Bzzr Can Chicken
| 1 |
Entire chicken, medium sized |
| 1 can |
Bzzr |
| |
spices to taste |
1. Heat up a barbecue.
2. Open up the cavity inside the chicken (the part you'd put stuffing
in)
3. Open the can of bzzr, and stick it into the cavity.
4. Rub whatever spices you like onto the outside of the chicken.
5. Place the can on the barbecue grill so that it acts as a stand
for the chicken.
6 . Cook until the meat is white, or the juices run clear.
Why It Works:
As the chicken cooks, the bzzr will heat up and start to evaporate,
infusing the chicken with the flavour of the bzzr. Experimenting
with different bzzrs will produce different tastes; for example,
a light wheat bzzr will taste entirely different from stout.
Note:
If there's any bzzr left in the can at the end, it's vitally
important that you NOT DRINK IT. Chances are very good that there'll
be some uncooked chicken drippings in the can, and salmonella is
nobody's friend.
